Are you ready to make

a positive change?

How focused are

you to suceed?

As a Consultant Medical Herbalist, I blend traditional Western herbal wisdom with modern scientific evidence in order to achieve a truly holistic approach to healthcare.
I also practice as a well-being coach within the same consultation. I promote self empowerment through education and mentoring which is a vital part of restoring good health.
The herbal medicine given is a unique blend that comes about by combining the person's medical history and information from blood pressure, and tongue & pulse readings.

The physical ailment is directly related to the mental and emotional circumstance of the person, whether past or present. To deal with the physical symptoms only is to provide temporary relief and does not reach the cause root of the problem. My prescriptions appreciate the individual nature of each person and their differing experiences in life. Even when medical diagnoses are the same, the emphasis is placed on correcting the imbalance that is absolutely unique to that person alone. The herbs work to encourage the body’s own healing response for the prevention or relief of conditions that you might take to your doctor, in addition to improving general wellbeing, vitality and emotional state for those of all ages.

I strongly commit to the use of whole plant extracts, whereby many of the side effects associated with isolated chemical extracts or synthetic drugs can be avoided.

Also I can devise herbal treatments that can safely and effectively work alongside conventional medicine. Any potential interactions between drugs and herbs are taken into account when prescribing. For the first consultation, kindly bring any current medication and a list of supplements.

It is important that existing medication is not stopped without advice from a doctor.

What to expect

What does herbal medicine treat?

Herbal medicine offers treatment for a wide range of acute or chronic conditions, in addition to improving general wellbeing, vitality and emotional state.

The most common problems I treat include:

• Headaches, migraine, chronic fatigue

• Stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia

• Stomach ulcers, IBS, IBD, candidiasis

• High cholesterol and blood pressure

• Hormonal imbalances, PMT, menopause

• Asthma, bronchitis, coughs, hayfever

• Cystitis, urinary and prostate problems

• Viral, bacterial, fungal infections

• Allergies, immunity, food sensitivities

• Eczema, psoriasis, acne

• Arthritis, gout, rheumatism

However absence of disease does not equate to good health.  We often feel under par with a lowered sense of vitality and a few unrelated symptoms. Using herbs at this stage too yields fantastic results.

What should I expect in a consultation?

The initial consultation lasts an hour and a half in order to collect a detailed medical history. Blood pressure is also taken and a physical examination is carried out if deemed necessary. A referral to a doctor or another type of therapist will be discussed if appropriate. In most cases herbal remedies may continue alongside other treatment. Advice and support is also given on suitable changes to nutrition and lifestyle. Follow up appointments are usually half an hour. The frequency of subsequent visits and length of treatment can only be determined on an individual level.

How are Herbal Medicines taken?

A prescription will comprise of one or a combination of the following depending on the condition: a tincture, tea, capsules, or an externally applied cream. Also where appropriate Bach flower essences are dispensed.

My personal interest is in supporting those who struggle with their mental health, particularly chronic stress, anxiety or depression. I can offer many different angles for treatment that in combination aim to empower you.
