The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
October 11, 2019
This workshop was given at the beauiful location of Hall's Croft within the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford upon Avon. After taking a stroll around the herb garden we focused on the history of herbal medicine from Shakespeare's times to the modern day. The event was in line with Mental Health Awareness Week, and so particular emphasis was given to Sage, where we explored the plant through an interactive sensory meditation.

Mindful Medicines
June 21, 2018
A throughly enjoyable evening of story swapping and plant tasting. We explored the personality of the plants through the senses, and really got to know them on a more heart centred level. Being with them mindfully we were able to access hidden depths that would be missed when living a fast-paced, instant-gratification mindset.

What a variety there was this time, both in the medicinal plants growing wild and the mushrooms too. And yet again, a beautifully lucky day with sun blazing down. Just perfect for a Sunday stroll for the soul.

It was a fun and interactive evening spent using our senses to open up to the wonderful world of plants. By feeling them rather than thinking about them, we could access their medicinal secrets that have informed herbalists throughout the ages.

Autumn Herb Walk
October 08, 2016
It was a glorious autumnal day and we found many berries to forage, and herbs to talk about. And with thanks to David Goldsmith we came away with mushrooms and lots of fungi knowledge. It was lovely to hear stories of how other people use the plants for all sorts of tasty sounding recipes.

Greek Retreat: Health & Wellbeing in the sun
June 02, 2016
June 2016 saw my first retreat co-hosted across the seas with Owen Okie. We all spent a week at the Kalikalos community in Kissos village, amongst the lush green mountains of the Greek region of Pelion, on the mainland's peninsula. The landscape is rife with all manner of aromatic healing plants which we explored through the senses, and discussed their uses. We delved into the body-mind connection using meditation techniques from the HeartMath Institute, and the benefits of getting creative to escape the analysing brain using Creative Evolution activities. Finally a day was spent amongst the mountains communicating with Nature with the theory of Wilderness Therapy. It was a beautiful week filled with much sun, learning, growing, laughter and Nature. Such a joy and pleasure to have been able to offer the chance to get away from it all and have the opportunity to just be yourself.

Spring time Herbal Walks
May 2016
Two Sundays worth of learning about spring time plants with medicinal value that I give in my clinical practice. Ufton Fields Nature Reserve is a fabulous place to see Nature's apothercary in action. We did a bit of foraging, tasting tinctures and teas, and sharing facts about about our green leafy friends.

Talk: Plants & People
March 29, 2016
It was an evening giving a talk to a large group called Evolution of Consciousness based in Birmingham. My talk focused on the relationship that plants and people have established over the many years. Plants have been and remain an essential part of our survival. However, I go on to discuss the merits of plants going forward into our collective evolution. Presently we have the means to invest time into more than purely surviving, and plants can assist us here too. Spiritual growth for the individual has never been more accessable and necessary for the sake of the planet and all those who reside on Her.

Talks: The Natural Medicine Cabinet
Nov 04, 2015 & Jan 27, 2016
Back by popular demand!!
An evening exploring how to treat acute illnesses (think colds, coughs, sore throats, etc..) in a way that works together with your natural immunity. And the best part is they can all be treated easily at home! I looked at the common afflictions in each body system and gave recipes for very easy ways to concoct some relief by using ingredients from the kitchen or simple herbs found in the garden.
